Johannesburg hosts 19th Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival

The much cherished South African jazz festival is back with a bang, and will be taking place at the biggest metropolis Johannesburg. The festival runs from September 15-17.

The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz is South Africa’s oldest jazz festival that has for 18 years brought together people of different cultures through jazz music and its sub-genres, the festival seeks to connect jazz fans with their favorite acts as it promotes Jazz music in Africa.

Internationally renowned artists such as American Grammy award winner Bob James Gerald Albright, multi-Percussionist composer and educator Kahil ElZabar, South Africa’s celebrated guitarist John Butler, and renowned Grammy Award group Sound of Love Jose James will be among the performers.

The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz has greatly contributed to the growth of Jazz music in Africa by giving publicity to jazz acts in Africa and the world.
