This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards nominees are five artists from Tanzania, Nigeria and South Africa. The five are: Tanzania’s Ali Kiba, South Africans Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest together with Olamide and Wizkid from Nigeria.
South African House DJ and producer Black Coffee is a revered award winning artist who is among the most influential musicians from Africa, he has worked alongside a host of top artists from across the world and is the first South African to win a BET Award.
Ali Kiba is the 30-year-old captivating voice from Tanzania, who is known for hits such as “Chekecha Cheketua”, “Cindarella” and one his most recent “Aje\” plus many others. He is currently signed to Sony Music Entertainment.
Cassper Nyovest is a South African artist whose debut album ‘Tsholofelo’ was released in 2014 followed by three other projects, the 3 time Channel O award winner is also a BET Nominee, his most popular hit is “Doc Shebeleza”, the rapper is signed to his own independent record label Family Tree.
Nigerian Olamide is a two time MAMA nominee, he started his music career in 2002 and is known for hits such as “Konkobility”, “Who U Epp”, among others, he has five albums to his name.
Wizkid on the other hand is famed for hits such as “Ojuelegba”, “Jaye” among others, the StarBoy wonder boy has made numerous collaborations with international artists that have become instant hits.
All the five MTV EMA nominees have also been nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) nominees scheduled for October 22.
