Kenyan Jazz: Aaron Rimbui Performs Live February

Will you be in Nairobi this February? Well if so, make a date to sample the country’s jazz scene.

Kenyan Jazz artist and radio host Aaron Rimbui and friends will be performing live in Nairobi on February 11th at the Michael Joseph Centre.

Rimbui is one of the country’s top jazz acts who are credited for popularizing the genre in modern Kenya; he started his career in 2001 and has performed alongside Kenyan top musicians and international acts including Emmanuel Jal, Lionel Loueke, Suzanne Owiyo, Eric Wainaina, Morris ‘Mo’ Pleasure, Maurice Kirya, Moussa Diallo.

Rimbui has also opened for Jazz acts like Hugh Masekela, Gerald Albright, Donell Jones, Erykah Badu and Richard Bona. The Capital Jazz Club radio show host has also appeared at Jahazi Jazz Festival in Zanzibar and Safaricom International Jazz Festival, Nairobi.

Jazz fans will get the chance to meet the musicians and sample a taste of Kenyan jazz in a rather informal setting.

Rimbui has three albums to his name: Keys of Life (2005), Alfajiri (2009) and Simplified released in 2013.
